Doesn’t your grandpa have a cozy cardigan to wear around the house? Cardigan is worked from the bottom up. Shawl collar is extended with short rows to be wider at the neckline. Cabling is worked on the fronts and modified for the sleeves, and the back is knit in a wide-wale rib. Cable pattern is fully written AND charted. Directions are provided for 3/4 length and full length sleeves.
Knit it oversized to be comfy like Gramps, or to your chest measurement for a little more sass (shown fitted in size M). Design is unisex, and as soon as I can manage I’ll be knitting a non-hot-pink version to try on a dude. Check out the child’s version, the coordinating slouchy hat pattern and even the sweet blankie.
